The first House event of the year kicked off yesterday on the marble stage. 

Mr. Phil, from the English Department, handed out awards to the students who read the most books for the summer.  In all, 33 students received certificates. 

Dr. Tom then spoke to the Houses about the events over the next few months. 

But the big event of the day was the election of the House Captains:

Ruby:  9Y Renee Chen

Sapphire:  9T Peter Cui

Topaz:  9T Jolina Kong

Emerald:  9T Sophia Kwok

The first House event is next Tuesday.  The Houses will compete in a number of fun races.
